Beggars Row was founded in 1998 in Scotland. From the first time the band toured worldwide and played well at festivals, on radio and TV and in theaters. Friesland in the year 2001 was the first time acquainted with Beggars Row and since then the fans only got worse.

Dressed in Scottish Kilt, members of Beggars Row is a real show, full of energy and good humor. The audience is not forgotten because of the reputation of the band oml setter public body to enter.

Background of the band

For Bob Ferguson was started when he started listening to music by The Dubliners, The Corries and The Clancy Brothers. Neil Nicholson was in his fourteenth year professionally engaged in music, especially in the cabaret world, before turning to the Celtic violin.
David Ritchie was 25 years long "Pipe Major" in the military. Ricky Murray played with several bands before he came Beggars Row. Farquhar MacDonald has been playing bagpipes and violin from childhood and did so in several bands before joining Beggars Row came. Beggars Row's music is best described as a mix of Scottish, Irish and world music with an emphasis on "having fun"!

Beggars Row's first overseas performance was in Moscow for Russian TV. This was a huge success given the overwhelming request for action again to transmit. The show is repeated several times and eventually more than 100 million listeners knew. The employees of the concert are literally running out when all 4,000 visitors with their feet stomping to the music were. Was it an earthquake?

The band has a reputation of giving the public a show to several encores. They even agreed to do six encores because the audience was insatiable. With two CDs in the back and a good reputation Beggars Row in 2001 gave a successful performance in Friesland. After this performance the band played regularly at the Skagen Festival in Denmark and other festivals / concerts both in Norway, Belgium, Ireland, England, Wales, Israel and the United States.

Beggars Row was October 2008 together with The Dubliners, Scrum, Shantychoir Rolling Home, Irish Stew and troubadour Gurbe Douw Strangers on stage at the Celtic Folk Festival in the WTC Expo in Leeuwarden.
